Book Group

Each week we meet to read aloud and share a story. The students enjoy reading aloud to the group and it's a good way to learn new vocabulary. We have been welcomed by Islington Library service and meet at the Essex Road branch.

Our group's first book was Street Cat Bob by local author James Bowen, followed by Emil And The Detectives. We are now reading The Weight Of Water by Sarah Crossman. This is a beautifully written and poignant story of a Polish girl and her mother who come to live in the UK. We are very excited that the author is coming to meet us soon!

"The Book Group is a good way to improve my English reading skills which is very important to me. It is good to have someone there to help with the words and correct me if necessary so I that I can improve." Student

"I love the book group because it has allowed me to read everything like newspapers, fiction, books and stories." Student
