London Parks

I walk on the grass that reminds me of home
In London I walk on Hampstead Heath
In Regent’s Park
Richmond Park.
I went there in spring when the crocuses were growing
Purple and yellow, bright colours everywhere

In autumn I like to sit on a bench
Listen to the bird song
Watch the falling leaves
See the seasons change
Like a life in different phases
Starting with the spring of childhood.

When I was a child my father would wash my feet
Now as I walk on the grass of London parks
I dream of flying home
Washing his wrinkled feet
Giving him comfort
That is why I have painted a bright warm sun in my hand.
